Mr. Booker

Last week our class wrote letters to Corey Booker asking him to come to our school and chat with us. I believe it would be really cool to meet the mayor of New Jersey's largest city which is Newark. Lets not get our hopes that high since he is probably busy with his duties of being mayor of Newark. And plus Corey Booker is really the Batman!?!?!?

New Jersey Gov't

Now it is time to learn about our home state government. As we all know New Jersey is known to be a corrupt government but how much of that is true I don't know for sure. Even though the buzz of the Election is starting to calm we still have another marking period of learning more about our government. And how about those Giants!!

A New Chapter

As of right now it looks like Obama will be our next President. It's tough for me to admit defeat but I believe it is over and as a McCain supporter I give my congrads to Obama and all the Obama supporters and wish Obama the best of luck. Lets remember that no matter if you were a McCain or Obama supporter we are all Americans and have to unite under President Barak OBama.

D-Day

Election Day is almost here and the race is getting very heated. As of Sunday McCain's lead is almost gone in his homestate of Arizona which can be a hugeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee problem if he can't even win his own state. Meanwhile McCain is gaining ground on Obama in Pennsylvania which is good news. I can't wait to see the outcome of this election and to see Howard cry if Obama wins.

Virginia is the key

For the first time since 1968 the state of Virginia might lean to the Democratic side. As of now based on the cnn polls Obama is leading McCain by 7 points and 5 percent are still undecided. If Obama is able to pull a win in Virginia then I believe the election will be over and Obama will get the win. I would say it is a must win for McCain but at the same time he might lose his own state of Arizona. At the same time McCain has told supporters that he will win the elections but he is a huge underdog this election. Who knows Tampa Bay Rays were in last place last year and now they are in the World Series. Can this be a sign for things to come?

What a Weekend for Politics

This weekend many events occured that involved politics. The first was the movie W. which was a very interesting movie that really did not make fun of our current President. At times you felt a little sorry for the man and the things he went through. Even John McCain had a very quick appearance in the film as well. Also Sarah Palin made a guest appearance in Saturday Night Live appearing with Tina Fey. And in bigger news McCain is gaining ground very quickly on Obama and is trailing ony by 2%. What will happen this week?

Palin is boooed out of Phily

Sarah Palin was in Philadelphia on Saturday for the home opener for the Flyers. Palin was introduced to drop the puck and while doing so was booed of the ice! I thought this was really funny since Palin always relates her self to "Hockey Moms" and yet hockey fans in Philly seem to disagree. But these are the same philly fans who threw snowballs at Santa during an Eagles game. Oh and the New York Rangers beat the Flyers that game so eat that philly!!!

Election Day Could be a Mess

As all of you know that Election Day is coming up soon and yet there are many problems to be fixed before that day. Some states are not up to date with the new voting machines such as Colorado. Other states, including some of the toss up states, may have very longs lines since they have limited voting machines. Also the number of voters this election will have a huge increase but some states are concern since there are many new voting instructors and a new set of guidlines for this election. This could have a major impact if someting goes wrong.

John McCain isn't Right Now?

John McCain might be in some trouble with a very famous 80's rock band. Van Halen did not give permission to Sen. McCain to use one of their songs during a rally in Ohio. John McCain was reported using the song "Right Now" after the rally. Van Halen said that they had never recieved a request from the McCain party. Van Halen also said that they would have said no to the Senator and saying they do not support McCain.
